NFL Week 11 Fantasy Football Start Em or Sit Em; Williams, Brown, Moreno
Week 10 has passed and fantasy owners are on the grind to get over the top and make a run to either lock up a playoff spot, or are trying to thrash their way into a playoff spot. Regardless of your position, you are here to see what week 11 has in store, so lets get to it.
If you need any sleepers or waiver wire steals, check out PFI’s Week 11 Sleepers and Waiver Wire Steals by clicking here.
Editor’s note: The format of Start Em / Sit Em is changed to a player Quick Hits format to give you more information on more players.
Must Starts-These players are must starts on your team if you own them, and need no explanation!
Chris Johnson, Maurice Jones-Drew, Adrian Peterson, Andre Johnson, Kurt Warner, Larry Fitzgerald, Steven Jackson, Brett Farve, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Randy Moss, Aaron Rodgers, Ray Rice, Reggie Wayne and Donovan McNabb.
-Quick Hits-
1. Ronnie Brown-RB-Dolphins. The Dolphins are scheduled for an early game this week as they will face the Panthers, in Carolina. As you remember if you are a Ronnie Brown owner, Brown left the field in the 3rd quarter of last weeks game as he was helped off by teammates. As of Tuesday, Brown was still on crutches and it is hard to imagine that Brown will play. His health even if he does play will make him a non factor. Sit Em.
2. Ricky Williams-RB-Dolphins. See above. The loss of Brown will only give Williams even more carries than he usually receives. Williams has been fantastic this year, and is a must Start Em this week.
3. DeAngelo Williams / Jonathan Stewart-RB-Panthers. Coming off of a week where DeAngelo did not even practice on the Friday before, Williams still managed 92 yards on the ground. Stewart meanwhile, had 82 yards with 2 TD’s last week. Both in the past two weeks have appeared on injury reports. If they play, Start Em. They both get enough touches and are talented enough to make an impact on your fantasy team.
4. Steve Smith-WR-Panthers. I passed onto everyone last week to start Smith, who by every measure has suffered tremendously from his quarterback’s poor performance this year. Smith is still an incredible receiver coming off of a 2 TD performance. Hopefully this will give Smith momentum going forward. Start Em.
5. Beanie Wells-RB-Cardinals. Beanie is coming off of a 85 rushing yard, 2 TD performance. Wells has more abilities than does counterpart Tim Hightower, as Wells has big play abilities. The Cardinals are facing the Rams, and the Cardinals will be able to explore all facets of their offensive game this week. Start Em.
6. Kellen Winslow-TE-Buccaneers. Winslow has had two good weeks in a row, and after his 7 grabs for 102 yards last week, it is clear that he and rookie QB Josh Freeman are on the same page. Tampa faces the undefeated Saints at home this week, which is not a favorable match up, but if the Buccs are going to have any success through the air, Winslow will be involved. Start Em.
7. Alex Smith-QB-49ers. Smith had a horrible game last Thursday against the Bears. Now Smith draws the Green Bay Packers. If you missed the Packers / Cowboys game, Green Bay’s Defense was on fire as they made the entire Cowboys offense completely ineffective, including Tony Romo. I do not look for Smith to be able to accomplish more than Romo did on this great defense this week. Sit Em.

8. Roy E. Williams-WR-Cowboys. On paper, Roy had a great game last week against the Packers in a losing effort as he had 5 grabs, 105 yards and a touchdown. What you don’t see on the stat sheet was the dropped, more than catchable, balls, or the fumble on what most likely would have resulted in another touchdown had he not lost possession of the ball. The look of disgust on Tony Romo’s face was obvious after the drop, as I anticipate Romo to look for Jason Witten and Miles Austin more this week, as they face a gritty Redskins defense. Sit Em, unless your me and you have to start em.
9. Bengals Defense. The Bengals Defense has been playing like their counterparts in their division, those being the Ravens and the Steelers. The Bengals draw the 2nd worst team in the NFL this week in the Oakland Raiders. The Bengals are coming off of a brilliant win over the Steelers, where they held Pittsburgh to 0 touchdowns! If Pittsburgh can’t score a TD on the Bengals, how can the Raiders? Start Em.
10. Steelers Defense. Even in a losing battle, the Steelers held the Bengals talented offense to 0 touchdowns last week as well. They did have a special teams breakdown allowing a returned TD, but their defense was strong. The Steelers face the Chiefs this week, minus Larry Johnson. I look for the Steelers to dominate this week again on D. Start Em.
11. Knowshon Moreno-RB-Broncos. Moreno will face the Chargers this week minus starting QB Kyle Orton. Moreno’s visit to San Diego earlier in the year resulted in the following stat line; 18 carries for 44 yards. Now I anticipate the Chargers forcing the Broncos to have to pass, as Chris Simms does not strike fear into any defenses. The Chargers will key in on the run and force Simms to beat them. Sit Em.
12. Brady Quinn-QB-Browns. I have defended Quinn up until yesterday. After defending that he does have an arm, he threw three consecutive bombs that all went out of bounds! I guess he does not have an arm, and his receivers are not on the same page that he is with his phantom throws to nowhere yesterday. Until Ratliff is the Browns starter, leave the Browns QB’s alone, regardless of who they are playing. Sit Em.
13. Cleveland Browns Receivers. See above! Sit Em.
14. Bernard Scott-RB-Bengals. Scott is one of the buzz names in the sleeper world this week. Benson still has a shot at playing this week, which makes Scott’s value diminished. This plus the fact that Larry Johnson just signed a 1 year deal with the Bengals, kills any playing time that Scott will see long term. Don’t Even Pick Em Up!
15. Marshawn Lynch-RB-Bills. Since Lynch’s return after his 4 game suspension, he has only has 1 TD on the year, and has not rushed for 70 yards or more yet on the season. Until the Bills can keep their QB standing, and can block for their running backs, Lynch has little to no value. Sit Em, and all of your Bills.
16. Raiders Running Backs. So, who will get the carries this week for the Raiders? Will it be Justin Fargas, Darren McFadden or Michael Bush? Do you have all three on your team? Would you start them all? Only the Raiders know who will get the carries for their team. I guess it will be running back by committee, and the one with the hot hand will get the most carries. There is not a clear cut starter here, and they do not do enough damage on offense to rate starting any out of this group until a stud emerges. Sit Em all.

Hey I wrote in last week with my terrible 2-7 now 2-8 eight team that I inherited so ive been trying to make trades but most people are unwilling to let go of their running backs suprise suprise….
So my question is what do you think of Frank Gore as a keeper for next season?
Casey,
Yes, as it stands right now, Frank Gore is a keeper. Anyone who would get drafted in the first round, especially an every down back is a keeper. If Gore stays healthy and is not traded where he will share time, or they do not bring in another stud, your good!
Thanks for checking back in…
How many teams are in your league?
Kurt
There are ten teams in my league… Each team can have five running backs and so far I’ve tried trading for micheal turner, cedric benson, MJD, frank gore, steve slaton, and ray rice… not a single bite so I guess imma have to lower my standards
My question is what RB’s do I target next
I have Desean Jackson, Vincent Jackson and Randy Moss…which 2 should I start. Moss…yes, but which Jackson…?
Casey,
Get a top 5 QB then, Manning, Brady, Rodgers or a Brees. Think about Mendenhall and others that will be in more productive roles next year. McCoy would be great if Westbrook retires. Time to think out of the box!
Shock,
yes, start Randy. Both Jackson’s are good starts. I like D. Jackson against the Bears. Westbrook is not playing and the Bears run d is far better than their pass d.
Leave your response!
